Obon is an annual event in Japan that honors the spirits of ancestors.In my region, on August 13, I go to the temple to which my family belongs to say hello and bring the spirits of my ancestors home from the graves.In some areas, it is July. It is said that in areas where sericulture was popular, July was busy, so it became August.My hometown of Gunma Prefecture is an area where sericulture is thriving, so Obon is in August.My family’s grave is in a building on the temple grounds.It is a building that was built in my grandfather’s generation
