New Year Day’s routine

On New Year’s Day, I first go to the temple in hometown at 9:00 to greet the New Year.In Japan, temples managed the family register before Westernization, so even now, in rural areas, temples = local communities.After the greeting, I drove 600 km (375 mile) from my hometown of Isesaki City in Gunma Prefecture to Osaka City, where I currently live.It runs on the highway, but there is a route on the mountain side and a route on the sea side.Snow is also removed on the highway on the mountain side, so you can run during the day even if (more…)

2023 New Year Ekiden

Ekiden is a marathon in which multiple runners run in relays.The New Year Ekiden is a popular event that is held in Japan on January 1 every year and is broadcast on TV and web.　(1) 【LIVE】《全移動車》をライブ配信【ニューイヤー駅伝2023】 – YouTube￥This ekiden course is near my home in Gunma Prefecture, so I go to support it along the road and watch it on TV.　I didn’t go back to Gunma Prefecture this year to prevent coronavirus infection, so I’m watching the game on TV from Osaka. New Year Card 2023

Due to the prevention of coronavirus infection, I could not go sightseeing anywhere in 2022.When I was looking for an image that could be used for New Year’s cards, I found an image that I tried to use in 2017 but did not use. This photo of the American space shuttle is not of the United States, but of an amusement park called Space World in Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan.Unfortunately, it closed in 2017.
