I had holidays in September and went to Shanghai Expo with wife.

I have visited several times Shanghaicity as business trip. And I have an advice “Shanghai Expo is a historic event. You look Shanghai Expo is better.” from a Chinese staff in company.

Of course, almost Chinese people want to recommend their Expo to foreign people. But, I think also that there will be no other large Expo like a Shanghai Expo in the future (while I am living). So, I decided to visit Shanghai Expo with my wife.

Anyhow, expo site is large. I have heard from Chinese JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) staff that “Going front of a gate at half past eight and half past nine are same.”. ?? How mean is that? He explains to us by Japanese, but I thought his Japanese explanation is wrong, isn’t it? But, His saying is correct.

“Expo site is too large. And when the gate is opened, all visitors can enter at once. So when new comers arrive at half past nine, nobody is in front of the gate.

Certainly, I could look waiting lines at fevered pavilions, only a few figures could be seen in expo site.  We could sit down at empty rest space, could enter restaurant at once. It is very comfortable than Expo Aich in 2005 in Japan .

Chinese Pavilion is in center of the site. It is a red and large and.

For enter Chinese pavilion, it needs to get a numbered thicket that could get at Chinese pavilion. This Chinese pavilion is remained after closed expo, so I gave up in this time.


Aaudi Arabia pavilion

Fevered pavilion ranking without Chinese pavilion, No. 1 is Saudi Arabia pavilion, No.2 is Japan pavilion. They said that this order is same as costs of pavilions.

I made effort to experience No. 1 pavilion. I had waited for 2 hours and half in waiting lines.

Movie is projected by IMAX system (IMAX is system by Canadian company IMAX corporation. It uses 70mm films and very fine and is also popular in Japan ).  What a wonderful Saudi!, How rich that is!. (Of course it can’t take a picture, please make image by your brain.)


Japan pavilion

This is Japan pavilion. It is calling as “Silkworm island”.  I couldn’t enter in this time because I had no time.  I am enough that I can look outside of this pavilion, I have look outside detail of this Japanese pavilion.


Belugium pavilion

And then, it is Belgium pavilion that I must look on a my job.

1st floor is for explanations of Belgium country and products like chocolates. We though a membrane object in a picture and up to 2nd floor. There is a restaurant that we can enjoy Belgium beers and meals.


This is an huge Panda objet in expo site. 

There are many artistic objet in expo site and we can enjoy without pavilions. The rest space is enough and I could use without no waiting. I had experienced about Kobe Expo (1881), Tsukuba Expo (1985) and Aichi expo (2005), Shanghai expo is very combatable than these Japanese expo, I thought. And it changed my understanding that the expo get hard crowd.
